The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s Fish and Wildlife Research Institute is committed to a diverse workforce that reflects the labor market in Florida. The institute recruits scientists and technicians for five core groups: Marine Fisheries Research, Freshwater Fisheries Research, Wildlife Research, Ecosystem Assessment and Restoration, and Information Science and Management. In addition to the need for scientific and technical staff, the everyday administration and maintenance of the facility requires the expertise of qualified clerical, administrative, and maintenance staff. Career Service (CS), Select Exempt Service (SES), and Senior Management Service (SMS) positions receive full benefits as provided by the state of Florida.

Other Personal Service Employment (OPS)
OPS is temporary employment intended for short-term duration, usually on a grant-funded project. OPS employment does not provide benefits. However, OPS employment is a great way to gain experience and expand your network of fish and wildlife research professionals.
