PREFACE
This publication represents the proceedings of a symposium held August 12, 1985 in Gainesville, Florida, in which research on the subtropical-tropical seagrasses of the southeastern United States over the past 25 years was synthesized and summarized, and future research directions were recommended. Topics covered in this volume include: distribution, nutrient cycling, primary productivity, detritus production, proximate constituents, epiflora, macroalgae, reproductive biology, faunal assemblages, food webs, human impacts, and habitat restoration.
