MANATEE PLATE ARTIST TO SIGN LIMITED EDITION POSTERS AT STATE FAIR

Artist Nancy Blauers will sign limited edition posters of the artwork featured on the newly redesigned Florida manatee license plate at the Florida State Fair in Tampa.  The signings will take place at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission’s (FWC) “Red Barn” exhibit on Saturday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 16 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

During signings, the FWC will provide free posters to fair patrons while supplies last.

As senior artist with Margaritaville Merchandising, Blauers designs products depicting “the Margaritaville lifestyle” for Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville stores and restaurants.

The FWC “Red Barn” exhibit features fresh- and saltwater game fish, native wildlife and displays designed to inform visitors about Florida’s wildlife and fisheries resources. FWC display hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Proceeds from the sale of the manatee license plate are a major source of funding for Florida’s manatee research and conservation. To purchase the new plate, visit your local tax collector’s office or log on to www.buyaplate.com.
