Harmful Algal Bloom Research at FWRI
FWRI’s harmful algal bloom (HAB) scientists investigate and monitor Florida red tide and other HABs in coastal and estuarine waters around the state. HAB scientists use state-of-the-art microscopic and technical equipment to study the taxonomy, ecology, toxicology, and genetics of Florida red tide and other harmful algae.
