Specimen Information Service (Collections)
FWRI has three extensive collections which include about 250,000 catalogued entries of preserved invertebrates and adult and larval fish. Scientists use these collections as tools to assist them as they identify animals collected during research. Collections staff members also use specimens for presentations, arrange for loans to be used as teaching or research aids, and assist scientists and the public with identifications.

Categories
SIS staff members maintain voucher and reference collections which contain cataloged lots of fish larvae, fish, and invertebrate specimens. The specimens are available for loan to researchers and educators worldwide.
