Description
Mangroves are woody plants that prefer protected, low-energy shorelines in estuaries and lagoons. They are found along virtually every coast that has a tropical or subtropical climate.

This brochure discusses the four mangroves species found in Florida: Red, Black, White, and Buttonwood. Included is a description of each of the four species, details on range and habitat, and information on why mangroves are important.
