| In 1980, aerial photos (1:24,000, natural color) were taken of seagrass on Florida's Gulf Coast. The intended comprehensive photointerpretation and mapping by EPA and NWRC were not conducted due to lack of funding. |

| Seagrass distribution maps were not available for the area of Cape Sable to Sanibel. Seagrass distribution was interepreted from 1987 natural color aerial photographs (scale 1:24,000). Distribution was mapped on standard 1:24,000 USGS maps and digitized. |
