Project Summary

Color infrared aerial photography from 1982 at the scale of 1:24,000 was used to map seagrasses of Charlotte Harbor to Estero Bay, FL. The classification scheme addressed dense seagrass beds, moderate seagrass beds, and sparse seagrass beds. The mapping was performed by FDOT; FMRI did the digitizing. The cost and financing of the project are unknown. The data are represented as hard copy maps and are also stored at FMRI in a digital format (ARC coverages) and are available; metadata are also available.
